Mommy Manager

Hello Blog World,

It has absolutely been an extremely long time! I am so apologetic for being away so long. It appears that I have more readers than I know ~ since writing has always been cathartic for me and my hubbster bought me this awesome laptop, I plan on putting it to good use. I am sure that you are thinking, I’ve heard you say that before. Yes, but this time, I have my own computer device to complete this task.

Today I want to talk about being the “mommy manager.” My husband recently began working after a 3 year hiatus and now I have become the “mommy manager.” That is to say that I have the task of managing the household including all the chores (loading and unloading the dishwasher, trash, laundry, meal planning), chauffeuring the children (to and from school, school activities and church activities) and managing the children (activities, homework, hygiene, being a referee, health appointment) and let’s not forget the other duties as assigned. The purpose of this particular blog is to remind us as mothers not to forget about ourselves. Right now my husband is cooking while I am locked away in my room.  That’s right I said locked. Why you may ask – because it is better for my sanity. I am the captain of this ship or rather The Queen of this Empire and I must be whole in order to maintain order. So don’t feel bad to kick back and relax a little – go ahead and pamper yourself a little: schedule that massage, waxing, pedicure or facial; paint your nails. We must all learn to take a little time to care for us. That’s the true secret to a happy household!

Looonnnngggg Time

Welp – first let me apologize for not being consistent. We all know how it it when you have children. The Empire was down for a little bit. The littlest one, whom I have now dubbed The Enforcer, had croup. The girl twin, Thing 1, was sick and started the chain of events and then with no warning, guess who got sick last? No, not my better half – I will raise my hand for this one because it was me. To make matters worst, I had a list of things I wanted to blog about only to have misplaced my Hello Kitty notebook.

At one point in time, I would say that the above things were excuses. Now that I’m in my 30’s, I call it life. I have enjoyed writing all my life, which was one of the reasons that I started this blog.  I only have one follower, which is My Mommy of course. I am hoping that if I remain dedicated that I will be able to go viral LOL No need in starting something and not keeping up with it. So, my first goal this week is to post a new blog (check!) and then starting next week, I will post a new blog every Thursday. SO stay tuned because I think I have some good topics in my head…..now where did I place that notebook?????

The New Mommy On the Block

Hey Blogesphere!

I am the new Mommy on the block. This is my very first post and it has been a long time coming. This idea has been on my mind for quite some time but it was not until a recent conversation with a friend at dinner that I decided to put the idea into manifestation…or put the fingers to the keyboard if you will.

Since this is my first blog, I would like to tell you a little about myself. The name of my blog site is Mom of an Empire. This site is decided to the joys and “stuff” of parenting. You may be saying to yourself, “Well, I hope you have kids.”  To that I say, I have 4 children. My oldest child, Number One, is 7 years old. Followed by 4 year old twins, Thing One and Thing Two, and I have a 21 month old, Baby Girl. In addition, I have been married for 8 years. I work full time and am a stay at home mother.  How is that possible you may ask? Well that will make for another post ~ I mean, I have to keep you coming back. I hope to provide you will interesting things in the world of Mommyville;  from beauty products (my obsession), to faith, to issues with family/friends, to just plain ole fun stories from the children.

Please enjoy and if you have any questions or comments by all means, please drop a line or two (or an entire comment) in the comments section. Thanx for reading with me today.
